
Cardinals Travel to ACC TipOff on Wednesday

Head coach Jeff Walz, Olivia Cochran and Mackenly Randolph will represent the Cards
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The University of Louisville women's basketball team will be well-represented at Wednesday's 2024 ACC Women's Basketball TipOff as head coach Jeff Walz, graduate student Olivia Cochran and freshman Mackenly Randolph will attend the event at the Hilton Charlotte Uptown.
Coach Walz and the players will have a press conference that will be streamed on the ACC Network Extra starting at 9:45 a.m. ET. Fans can watch the press conference via the link here. Right after the press conference, Walz will be live on the ACC Network at 9:45 a.m. ET. The players will be live on the ACC Network later on at 11:45 a.m. ET.
The Louisville contingent will also take part in various interviews and media opportunities throughout the morning. Fans can keep an eye on the festivities by following Louisville women's basketball on social media and using the hashtag #ACCTipoff.
Cochran is entering her fifth season and has played 134 career games with the Cardinals. She has been to two Elite Eight's and a Final Four in her time with Louisville and she eclipsed the 1,000-point plateau last season. Cochran currently ranks 19th for most points scored in program history with 1,259 heading into the season.
Randolph is one of eight freshmen that join the squad this season. The incoming class was ranked No. 6 by ESPN and was the highest-rated class in the ACC. Randolph was one of four Top-100 recruits to join the Cardinals this season. During her senior year of high school, she was named a McDonald's All-American and a Naismith Trophy Third Team All-American.
Walz is entering his 18th season as the head coach of the Cardinals with a 465-135 record and is the all-time winningest coach in program history. The Cards are coming off their 14th-straight 20-win season, which is the fifth longest active streak in the country. The Cards defeated Kentucky for the seventh-straight year, the longest winning streak for Louisville in the history of the rivalry.
Louisville opens the 2024-25 campaign in Paris, France, against UCLA as part of the Aflac Oui-Play Event on Monday, November 4. The home opener will be on Friday, November 8 when the Cards take on Southern Indiana at 7 p.m. ET at the KFC Yum! Center.
