NOTING THE CARDINALS
GUERRA PUTS TOGETHER RECORD-SETTING SCORING BINGE
Senior forward Gage Guerra entered the season as one of the best goal-scorers in the country and then got off to a hot start with tallies in each of the first two matches. However, he then went the next six matches without finding the back of the net.
Guerra put an end to his scoring drought on Sept. 29 at Boston College and has been rolling ever since. The Houston native then scored twice at Cal before missing the Lipscomb match, and then converted penalty kicks versus Clemson and Evansville. He added another goal against Milwaukee to become the first Louisville player to score in five straight matches since at least 2001.
Guerra is now up to 30 career goals, tied for the 11th-most in Division I among active players.
