Cardinals Remain in First After Second Round of The Robbie

Thienna Huynh jumped into the individual lead after the second round
OWENS CROSS ROADS, Ala. — The Louisville women's golf team continued to stay atop the leaderboard after the second round of The Robbie from the Highlands Course at Hampton Cove on the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail Saturday afternoon. The Cardinals shot a 2-under-par 286 on Saturday, their lowest team-score round of the season. They hold an 11-stroke lead over second place heading into the final round on Sunday.
Thienna Huynh led the Cardinals on Saturday as she jumped into the top spot of the leaderboard. She fired a seasons-best 3-under-par 69 in the second round and is 1-under-par through 36 holes. On Saturday, Huynh tallied five birdies on the round to take the individual lead.
Not far behind is Carmen Griffiths as she also shot under par on Saturday. Griffiths shot 2-under-par 70 to tie a season-low round this season. She also had five birdies on the round and is tied for second overall.
A trio of Cardinals are tied for fourth overall at 2-over-par through 36 holes in Veronika Exposito, Gabbi Bentancourt and Beatriz Barrios. Barrios shot 1-over-par 73 with two birdies, Exposito shot 2-over-par 74 with three birdies and Bentancourt was 4-over-par 76 with one birdie in the second round.
Millie Cottrell and Bailey Burkett rounded out the Cardinals on the course on Saturday. The duo both shot 3-over-par 75 in the second round as Burkett had four birdies on the round and Cottrell had two. Cottrell is tied for 11th overall at 5-over-par and Burkett is tied for 17th overall at 8-over-par through 36 holes.
