This is the second of three-straight games at home for the Cards
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The No. 18/16 Louisville women's basketball (17-3, 6-1 ACC) is enjoying an extended stretch at home as they are in the midst of a three-game homestand. Up next to the KFC Yum! Center is the Pitt Panthers (7-13, 1-6 ACC) as the Cardinals are set for their second game against the Panthers this season. The Cards and Panthers are set to square off on Sunday, January 28 at 2 p.m. ET and the game will be streamed on the ACC Network Extra.
Sunday's game will be the annual Pink Game as the women's basketball team continues the fight against breast cancer and honors local breast cancer survivors. Discounted $5 tickets are available to purchase for those who have previously battled, or are currently battling breast cancer.
In the first matchup with the Panthers in Pittsburgh, the Cardinals came away with a 74-44 victory on Jan. 11. Although the final score margin was large, it was a close game for most of the matchup. The Cardinals were up four before hitting a buzzer beater to go into the half by seven. In the third quarter, the lead stretched to double digits and the Cardinals closed the game by outsourcing the Panthers 26-6 in the final quarter.
Louisville is coming off a 88-60 win over Boston College this past Thursday at the Yum! Center. The Cardinals improved to 10-0 at home with the win over the Eagles and continued to be a team that bounced back quickly following a loss. During Jeff Walz's 17 year tenure, the Cardinals improved to 88-24 following a loss after the win over the Eagles. The Cardinals are even better following a loss against ACC opponents as they are 22-3 following a loss against an ACC school. In their 10 years as members of the league, Louisville has only lost back-to-back ACC games three times.
Kiki Jefferson had a breakout game for the Cardinals against the Eagles. A day after being named to the Cheryl Miller Award Top 10 List which honors the top small forward in the country, she had one of her best performances of the season for the Cards. Jefferson led the team with a season-high 27 points on 8-for-14 shooting, 2-2 from behind the arc and was a season-best 9-for-11 from the free throw line. Jefferson also added a team-best seven rebounds and team-best four assists in just 27 minutes of play. It was Jeffersob's third 20-point game this season and the 27 points were the most scored by a Cardinal this season.

It was her 12th-straight game scoring 10 points or more and the 12th-straight game shooting 50 percent or more from the field. Freshman Elif Istanbulluoglu scored a career-high 11 points in the win for the Cards.
Louisville shot 57.1 percent (32-56) from the floor in the win over Boston College. It was the fifth time they have shot 50 percent or better against an ACC opponent this season and the seventh time overall this year. The 57.1 percent was the highest against an ACC opponent since Feb. 26, 2022, when they shot 58.5 percent in the road win over Notre Dame. The 88 points were the most against an ACC opponent since Feb. 6, 2022, when they scored 100 in a road win over Syracuse.
