Cards Set to Open the 2023 Season Against Northeastern and No. 2 Northwestern

The ninth-ranked University of Louisville field hockey team will open the 2023 campaign on Friday when Northeastern visits Trager Stadium for a 7 p.m. (ET) contest. The game was originally slated to start at 5 p.m., but was changed due to excessive heat. Following Friday's contest, the Cards will then hit the road for Evanston, Ill. to face No. 2 Northwestern in a top-10 matchup Sunday at 12 p.m. (ET).

Under Sowry's tutelage, Louisville has tallied three conference titles, including back-to-back ACC regular season crowns (2020, 2021) as well as a pair of runner-up finishes in the ACC Championships.

Scouting the Huskies
The Huskies were picked by coaches to finish fourth in the conference, tied with Drexel at 20 points. Lauren Rowe and Cailin Hart were selected to the 2023 Preseason All-CAA Field Hockey Team.
• Northeastern finished last finished with a 5-14 overall record and a 3-3 mark in the Colonial Athletic Association. The Huskies earned the No. 3 seed in the CAA championship, marking the team's fifth consecutive tournament appearance.
