
Cardinals Secure USTFCCCA All-Academic Honors

Both the men’s and women’s teams, along with 18 student-athletes, were honored.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville men's and women's track and field teams both earned All-Academic Team honors for the 2022-23 indoor and outdoor seasons, as announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Thursday.
Along with the team awards, 18 student-athletes were recognized individually as All-Academic Athletes.
The women's squad posted a cumulative GPA of 3.444 to earn the team award for the 19th consecutive year while Alba Cuns Iglesias, Lily Fleetwood, Maddie Horne, Soledad Jean, Natalie Lark, Carly Pujol, Synclair Savage, Aliyah Welter, and Zoe Yeast were recognized individually.
The men's team was honored as an All-Academic Team for the sixth straight season with a total GPA of 3.262 with Ethan Alyea, Jorge Contreras Nazario, Bryan Hudson, Robert Joseph, Isaac Kiprop, Ty McPhail, Luke Nichols, Isiah Pantiere, and Adar Sheere collecting individual honors.
About the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team
In order to qualify for All-Academic status, a team must carry a season cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher and have completed at least two (2) semesters at the institution. Athletic criteria for the award are as follows:
For the indoor season: Must have finished the season ranked in the top 96 in any championship individual event, or in the top 48 in any championship relay event, for the most recent indoor season, certifiable by their place on final season performance lists on TFRRS for Indoor Track and Field (including performances achieved outside the qualifying window during the indoor season).
For the outdoor season: Must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships (the Preliminary Championship Competition and/or the Final Championship Competition) or for the multi-events, must have finished the season ranked in the top 48 in the East or the top 48 in the West for the most recent outdoor season, certifiable by their place on TFRRS.
