
Cards Place 16 on All-ACC Softball Academic Team

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The University of Louisville softball team placed 16 student-athletes on the 2023 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Softball Academic Team as announced by the league Tuesday..

The Cardinals' 16 honorees are tied with Virginia Tech for the most on the all-conference academic team. Korbe Otis and Taylor Roby earned the honor for the second time and were joined on the team by Ally Alexander, Sam Booe, Hannah File, Paige Geraghty, Sarah Gordon, Cassie Grizzard, Daisy Hess, Gabby Holloway, Makayla Hurst, Easton Lotus, Vanessa Miller, Elana Ornelas, Madison "Pickle: Winkler and Alyssa Zabala.

Academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0-grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career. In addition, student-athletes must compete in at least 50 percent of their team's contests.
The ACC Honor Roll, which recognizes all conference student-athletes with a grade point average of 3.0 for the current academic year, will be released in July.

The University of Louisville softball team finished the season with a 36-20 and earned an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament, marking the program's 15th NCAA tournament appearance and first since 2019. The Cardinals also finished fourth in the Atlantic Coast Conference after posting 16-7 record in league play. Â Â
