Pitcher Izzy Harrison will join the Cardinals after two seasons at Kentucky
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville head softball coach Holly Aprile has announced that Izzy Harrison will join the Cardinals after two seasons at the University of Kentucky.

Harrison, a rising junior from Franklin, Ind., helped the Wildcats earn back-to-back NCAA Regional appearances in 2022 and 2023. The right-handed pitcher made 27 appearances with 10 starts and delivered 47 strikeouts in 42.2 innings of work.

Prior to her time with the Wildcats, Harrison was a standout at Franklin Community High School and the Beverly Bandits travel team. While playing for Franklin Community High School, the team captain and MVP helped lead her team to the 2021 Johnson County title and dealt a school-record 25 strikeouts in the 12-inning championship game. She finished her senior season ranked fourth among Indiana's strikeout leaders with 267 Ks and stood sixth with an 0.53 ERA in 2021. During her high school career, which included the COVID-19 impacted 2020 campaign, Harrison tallied 620 strikeouts.
Harrison earned first team class 3A/4A all-state in addition to all-conference and all-county honors. The 2021 Daily Journal Player of the Year and first team all-American was ranked the No. 36 player in the country by Extra Inning Softball. During her high school career, which included the COVID-19 impacted 2020 campaign, Harrison tallied 620 strikeouts.
