Cardinals Set to Compete in ACC Championships
April 12, 2023 | Women's Golf
GREENSBORO, N.C. – The University of Louisville women's golf team will start post-season play as they travel to the ACC Championships on April 13-16. The tournament will take place at the Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, N.C.
After a strong spring season, senior Rylee Suttor will get the opportunity to play in the first ACC Championship of her career. The transfer from Centre College, who has participated in eight of nine tournaments this year, has provided a huge spark for the Cardinals this season.
Suttor shot a season-low 66 at the Moon Golf Invitational this spring and has recorded five rounds of par or below in the last four tournaments. Shooting 3-under (213), Suttor grabbed her first Louisville top-10 finish at the Clover Cup where she shot at or below par in each of the three rounds.
Junior Agustina Gomez Cisterna has also seen some improvement this spring as she recently placed a season-best 18th at the Clover Cup, shooting a career-low 217.
The Cardinals tee off of hole 10 on Thursday beginning at 8:50 a.m. and will be paired with North Carolina and Virginia in the first round.
Following three rounds of stroke play (two Thursday and one Friday), the top four teams will advance to the match play semifinals beginning Saturday. The championship finals are set for Sunday.
The semifinals and finals of the ACC Women's Golf Championship Match Play will be televised live on ACC Network Extra. Ryan Burr (play-by-play) and Suzy Whaley (analyst) will provide the call. A championship recap show will air May 1 at 7 p.m. on ACCN.
