No. 39 Cards Fall at No. 14 Wake Forest

Cards will wrap up the weekend at No. 25 NC State Sunday
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The University of Louisville men's tennis team fell 4-1 to No. 14 Wake Forest in an Atlantic Coast Conference matchup Friday afternoon at the Wake Forest Tennis Center.

The Cardinals (10-8, 1-6 ACC) will wrap up a four-match road stretch on Sunday with a noon matchup at No. 25 NC State.

Fabien Salle and Natan Rodrigues defeated Juan Lopez and Filippo Moroni 6-3 at the No. 1 spot, but the Demon Deacons picked up wins on courts two and three to take the first point of the match.

After Wake Forest extended its lead with a win at the No. 5 spot, the Cardinals countered on court three where Salle, ranked No. 55 in the ITA singles rankings, topped Matthew Thomson 6-1, 6-1 to make the score 2-1. The Demon Deacons added wins on courts four and six to secure the 4-1 win.

Louisville's 76th-ranked Rodrigues posted a 6-3 win over No. 11 Melios Efstathiou and was tied 4-4 in the second set on court one while No. 31 Etienne Donnet split sets with Filippo Moroni  and was down 2-1 in the third when the match ended.
