Cardinals Begin Spring Season Hosting Moon Golf Invitational

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville women's golf team will open its spring season when they host the Moon Golf Invitational on Feb. 19-21 at the Suntree Country Club in Melbourne, Fla.
The Cardinals will face a field of 16 opposing teams, 13 of which are ranked in the Golfstat top-50 rankings.
Arkansas, Auburn, Florida State, Louisville, LSU, UCF, and Vanderbilt all have at least one individual ranked in the top-50 in the most recent Golfstat women's golf individual rankings. Florida State won the tournament at 10-under-par. LSU placed third with Alabama and UCF placing fourth and fifth, respectively.
Reigning Co-ACC Women's Golfer of the Month for Louisville, Carmen Griffiths has been steady in the individual rankings, sitting at 21st. The sophomore most recently recorded her first collegiate individual win in leading the Cardinals to third place at the Olde Stone Intercollegiate last fall. Previously, Griffiths finished sixth overall at the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Classic, recording the first ace of her career in the second round.
Round one of the Moon Golf Invitational will begin at 8 a.m. ET on Sunday, Feb. 19. Live stats can be found daily at Golfstat.com. Round two is scheduled for Monday at 8 a.m., with Tuesday's shotgun start beginning at 9 a.m.
