#22/19 Cardinals Travel to #19/20 Ole Miss for ACC/SEC Challenge

Cards and Rebels will meet in a rematch of the 2023 Sweet 16
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The No. 22/19 Louisville women's basketball team (6-1) is heading back on the road for the inaugural ACC/SEC Women's Challenge presented by Dixie Ultra. Louisville will be facing a familiar foe as it will be a rematch of the 2023 Sweet 16 matchup when they face off with No. 19/20 Ole Miss (6-1). The Cardinals and Rebels will square off on Wednesday night at 9:15 p.m. ET and the game will be broadcast nationally on ESPN.
Both teams are 6-1 heading into Wednesday's matchup and they both have a pair of tournament wins so far this season. The Rebels traveled to the Bahamas and came away with the Battle 4 Atlantis Championship after defeating Michigan in the championship game. The Cardinals were in Katy, Texas and knocked off Gonzaga this past Sunday to claim the Betty Chancellor Classic Championship.
During their time in Texas, Nina Rickards and Kiki Jefferson carried the load for the Cardinals en route to the tournament championship. Rickards scored in double figures in every game, including her first double-double of the season with 10 points and 10 rebounds against Alabama. In the final game against Gonzaga, Rickards tallied a season-best 16 points and added a team-best five assists. She was named to the Betty Chancellor Classic All-Tournament team.
Jefferson put together two of her best games in a Louisville uniform against Liberty and Gonzaga. She scored 20 points and was 8-for-8 from the free throw line in the win over the Flames. Against Gonzaga, Jefferson scored a season-best 21 points and added five assists while shooting 6-for-6 from the line. Over the three games in Texas, Jefferson was a perfect 15-for-15 from the free throw line. She joined Rickards on the Betty Chancellor Classic All-Tournament team.
The Cardinals had big fourth quarters in their wins over Liberty and Gonzaga. Against the Flames, the Cardinals outscored Liberty 26-12 in the final quarter to clinch the win. On Sunday against Gonzaga, the Cardinals held a three-point lead and needed to win by eight or more to win the tournament. Louisville hit their first nine shots from the floor and outscored the Zags 22-14 in the final quarter. So far this season, Louisville has scored 162 points in the fourth quarter, their highest-scoring quarter this season.

The Cardinals defense stifled the Rebels all night as the Cardinals advanced to their fifth-straight Elite Eight and eighth in program history. Mykasa Robinson scored 11 points, led the team with five assists and tied for the team lead with seven rebounds. Olivia Cochran added 10 points and six rebounds while Morgan Jones had 11 points and seven boards.
