Cardinals Turn to ITA Regionals

Nine Cardinals look to play in ITA Ohio Valley Regionals hosted by Chattanooga this weekend
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – UofL men's tennis is slated to compete in the ITA Ohio Valley Regional beginning on Thursday. This year, the regional is hosted by Chattanooga at the Champions Club Tennis Complex at Rivermont Park.
Louisville's first round draws are listed below.
The Ohio Valley Regional features 23 teams from around the region from Tennessee, Virginia, Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. The doubles draw has 64 players while the singles starts at 128 players. Doubles begins at 9 a.m. ET on Thursday followed by singles in the afternoon.
The singles and doubles finalists from this regional event will earn an automatic berth to the 2023 ITA National Fall Championships which will take place November 1-5 in San Diego, Calif.
In 2022, Louisville dominated the Regional at its own Bass-Rudd Tennis Center, finishing the event with doubles and singles championship matches of only Cardinals. Returner Natan Rodrigues was the singles runner-up and doubles champion, while sophomore will Mayew was apart of the doubles runner-up team.

UofL had two individuals ranked in the ITA Preseason Rankings in No. 24 Etienne Donnet and No. 42 Rodrigues. The pair of Rodrigues and Matt Fung were also ranked No. 27 in doubles. Donnet recently advanced all the way the quarterfinals of the ITA All-Americans.
