
Cards Tee Off Spring Season at Sea Best Invitational

LOUISVILLE — The University of Louisville men's golf team will tee off the spring season this Monday-Tuesday, Jan. 30-31, at the Sea Best Invitational at TPC Sawgrass Dye's Valley (par 70/6,790 yards) in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.
The Cardinals will compete against Campbell, Charleston Southern, College of Charleston, No. 9 Florida, Florida Atlantic, Florida Gulf Coast, host Jacksonville, No. 40 Liberty, No. 32 Lipscomb, No. 42 North Florida, Texas-San Antonio and USC Upstate.
The field will play 36 holes on Monday with a 8 a.m. ET shotgun start, and the final round Is slated to tee off at 8 a.m. CT on Tuesday.
The Cards opened the 2022 spring season at the same tournament, finishing in fifth-place overall.
Senior Jiri Zuska enters his final season as one of the top players in school history and headlines the lineup to begin the spring campaign. He has posted 12 top-10 finishes during his career and owns a career stroke average of 71.72
Louisville last competed on Oct. 21-23 at the Williams Cup in Chapel Hill, N.C. The Cards finished the Williams Cup in fifth place overall, with host team North Carolina on top of the leaderboard. Zuska finished in eighth overall, carding 2-over-par 218 and Sebastian Moss finished ninth with a score of 3-over-par 219. Max Kennedy placed in a tie for 28th (14-over-par 230), Walker Franklin carded 19-over-par 235 (tie for 41th), and Pierce Grieve finished in a tie for 54th (29-over-par 245).
The Cardinals competed in five fall tournaments, finishing in the top 10 three times. Zuska posted a 71.33 stroke average and a pair of top-10 finishes in the fall.
