Louisville is set for a two-game road swing this week
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The NR/RV Louisville women's basketball team is back on the road for a pair of ACC games this week. Up first for the Cardinals is a Thursday night matchup against Wake Forest in Winston-Salem. The Cardinals and Demon Deacons will square off at 6 p.m. ET and the game will be aired nationally on the ACC Network.
Louisville has been one of the best road teams in the country over the past six seasons. Since the start of the 2017-18 season, the Cardinals are 58-10 in road games, good for a .853 winning percentage. The 58 wins are tied for the second most in the country over that span and the winning percentage is fifth in the NCAA over that time. So far this season, Louisville is 6-3 in road games and they won their last ACC road matchup, an 83-75 win over Florida State on Jan. 15.
Chrislyn Carr has been one of the most prolific three-point shooters in the country this season. She leads the Cardinals with 58 threes made and a .487 shooting percentage from behind the arc. Her .487 shooting percentage leads the ACC and ranks fifth nationally. If the season ended today, Carr would be second all-time in Louisville program history for three-point shooting percentage in a single season. Her 58 threes also leads the ACC and ranks ninth nationally. Carr heads into the matchup with the Demon Deacons with 10 of her previous 11 games shooting 50 percent or better from three.
The Cardinals have been able to bounce back quickly following a loss under head coach Jeff Walz's tenure. Not counting the final game of each season, the Cardinals are 81-23 coming off of a loss. In their last 14 games coming off a loss, the Cardinals are 13-1 in those games. So far this season, Louisville is 5-1 after a loss. The Cardinals have not dropped back-to-back ACC games since the 2019-20 season, a span that covers 47 conference games.
