Louisville unlocks newfound speed
The University of Louisville rowing team completed all three rounds at the Lake Wheeler Invitational at Lake Wheeler Park, the site of this weekend's intercollegiate rowing event on Saturday. The Cards finished fourth of 16 teams in overall team points.

The V4 boat finished third, posting a time of 7:47.154.

V4 crew member Gabi Zanoni said, "This weekend the team showed true grit, the focus and determination to perform to the best of our abilities shone through in every race. I am overwhelmed with pride from how the team continues to push each other to reach for bigger goals every day. We are constantly finding new ways to dig deeper and unlock more speed. I am extremely excite to head into ACCs with this level of team unity and confidence."

The 2V8 Boat finished second, boarding a time of 6:50.592, just seven seconds behind winner Syracuse in a close finish.

Madeline Dodd of the 2V8 boat said, "This weekend was one to remember. The entire team unlocked a new level that we have been working so hard for. I cannot wait to see what these next few races have to offer."

The V8 Boat finished second, stopping the clock at 6:41.725, just six seconds behind the Orange.

V8 coxswain Ellee Grosser said, "It was a great weekend of racing. It was exciting to see us set a goal and exceed it and to see our team finally in the mix with the top end of the ACC schools. I can't wait to see how we continue to gain speed as we finish out the season.
