
Cards Set to Host No. 23 NC State and No. 7 Wake Forest

Prior to Sunday's match, the team will honor seniors Tin Chen and Josh Howard-Tripp.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville men's tennis team returns to the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center this weekend to face their fourth straight top-25 opponents in No. 23 NC State and No. 7 Wake Forest.
The 27th-ranked Cardinals will face NC State on Friday at 2 p.m. and will take on Wake Forest on Sunday at 1 p.m. Admission is free and coozies will be given away to fans at both matches.
Prior to Sunday's match, the team will honor its two seniors, Tin Chen and Josh-Howard Tripp.
Chen transferred from ASA Miami Junior College, where he helped the Silver Storm to the 2017 NJCAA national championship and a runner-up finish in 2018. Chen finished second in the country in both singles and doubles as the flight 1 runner-up in the National Junior College Athletic Association in 2018. During his time as a Cardinal, Chen has recorded 35 wins in singles play and 28 doubles wins. Chen is also a two-time ACC Academic Honor Roll honoree and was named an ITA Scholar-Athlete in 2021.
Howard-Tripp transferred from Arkansas, where he won 35 singles matches in three seasons with the Razorbacks. He won 18 singles matches and posted 11 wins in dual competition during the 2017-18 season, which ranked second and third most on the team. During his time at Louisville, Howard-Tripp has recorded 11 singles wins and was named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll in 2021.

Scouting the Demon Deacons: No. 7 Wake Forest (22-5, 5-1 ACC) suffered its first conference loss of the season, a 4-1 loss to No. 11 Virginia on Sunday. The Demon Deacons will visit No. 23 Notre Dame on Friday before facing the Cardinals. Eduardo Nava and Jakob Schnaitter each have 14 wins in singles to lead the team. The duo of Schnaitter and Siddhant Banthia are 14th in the ITA doubles rankings. Tony Bresky is in his 11th season at the helm.
