LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville football program conducted its annual Pro Day on Tuesday at the Howard Schnellenberger Football Complex.
Approximately 20 NFL teams attended Tuesday's workouts, which took place in Cardinal Stadium and in the Trager Center Indoor Practice Facility.
Seven players from the 2021 team showcased their talents in drills that included the 40-yard dash, bench press, vertical jump, broad jump and position drills.
Linebacker C.J. Avery, the team's leading tackler from last season, was just blessed to have the opportunity to display his abilities to personnel at the next level. Avery ran an impressive time of 4.50 during his 40-yard dash and was precise in his drill work.
"It was a blessing to be out there," Avery said. "I've been training hard for the last couple of months and to get this opportunity today is all that I could have asked for. I will head back home and see some of my people and just give my body a little break. It's been a long year, but I'm extremely grateful for this opportunity today."
Running back Maurice Burkley had a solid day, recording a 41-inch vertical jump and registered 29 reps during the bench press portion of Pro Day.
"It was great to see our players out there today," head coach Scott Satterfield said. "The guys came back in great shape and I'm proud of their performance this afternoon."
