Cards Return to the Course at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - — The University of Louisville women's golf team will compete at The Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic will begin on Friday morning at the University of Georgia Golf Course. A field featuring eight top-25 teams will play in the 50th edition of the tournament on Friday-Sunday.
The Cardinals enter the weekend ranked No. 38 nationally and will face a tough field over the weekend.
No. 3 Wake Forest is the top-ranked team in the tournament along with No. 4 South Carolina, No. 11 Texas, No. 12 Alabama, No. 13 Southern California, No. 16 Texas A&M, No. 17 Arkansas and No. 22 Ole Miss. Rounding out the competing squads are Charleston, Georgia Southern, Houston, Mercer, Mississippi State and a Georgia "B" team.
Kendall Griffin leads the Cardinals into the tournament after posting three top-five finishes in the last four events. Carmen Griffiths, Mairead Martin, Hana Ryskova and Lauren Thibodeau will also take the course for the Cardinals this weekend.
The Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic began in 1973 as the Georgia Invitational before becoming the Women's Southern Intercollegiates from 1977-94. In 1995, the tourney was renamed in honor of Liz Murphey, UGA's Hall of Fame golf coach and long-time Senior Woman Administrator.
The first and second rounds of the tournament will feature a morning wave beginning at 8:30 and an afternoon wave teeing off at 12:30. The Cardinals will be paired with South Carolina and will tee off on No. 18 at 12:32 p.m.
