
No. 3 Louisville Hosts Senior Day against No. 23 Virginia Tech on Sunday

The Cardinals and Hokies will tip off at 2 p.m. ET on the ACC Network and 790-AM WKRD.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – No. 3 University of Louisville women's basketball hosts Senior Day against No. 23 Virginia Tech on Sunday afternoon. The game will tip off at 2 p.m. ET and broadcast on the ACC Network and 790-AM WKRD.

Tickets for Sunday's game are available and $10 meal deals will be available behind Section 110. Get a hot dog, bag of chips and bottled water or small fountain soda for $10.

It is our rescheduled Pink Game and activities include five survivors being recognized during starting lineups, the survivor walk at halftime and a Louisville pink uniform auction. Fans can purchase pink t-shirts from Tom Drexler for $5 with all proceeds benefitting Gilda's Club of Kentuckiana. The first 4,500 fans in attendance will receive a pink rally towel from our official health care provider, Norton Healthcare. Fans can also get involved by helping raise funds for cancer research through a pledge to the Kay Yow Free Throw Challenge.

Louisville Women's Basketball also celebrates Senior Day with a pregame ceremony and a Senior Poster Giveaway. Louisville will honor graduate Chelsie Hall, and seniors Emily Engstler and Kianna Smith at midcourt prior to tipoff. The ceremony will begin at approximately 1:39 p.m. ET.
Seniors Liz Dixon, Mykasa Robinson and Ahlana Smith announced earlier this week that they will all take advantage of the NCAA's extra year of eligibility and return for the 2022-23 season.

Louisville is 13-0 at home this season. The last time they won their first 13 games at the KFC Yum! Center was the 2013-14 season when they won their first 17 games and finished 18-2 at home. They have never finished a season undefeated at the KFC Yum! Center.

Hailey Van Lith leads the team in scoring with 13.3 points per game and has led the team in scoring nine times. Over the last 11 games, she is averaging a team-high 16.2 points per game. Kianna Smith had a Louisville career-high nine assists on Thursday at North Carolina. Her previous high was eight at Clemson on Feb. 3. Her career-high is 12 assists against Manhattan when she was at California on Nov. 24, 2017. In the last five games, she is averaging 6.2 assists and has 31 assists to six turnovers, a 5.2 assist-to-turnover ratio.

The last time UofL lost to VT was Feb. 26, 1995, when the Hokies won 68-60, the last of a four-game win streak VT held against the Cards. The closest ACC game between the two programs came in the 2018 ACC Tournament when the Cardinals edged the Hokies 73-70. When the Cards and Hokies met on Feb. 19, 2015 in Blacksburg (W, 69-49), it marked the first time in 20 years that the two teams had squared off. In the last meeting at the KFC Yum! Last Meeting (Jan. 7, 2021) - Dana Evans scored 22 points, including four in the final minute-plus, and No. 2 Louisville slipped past Virginia Tech 71-67 in Blacksburg. Evans hit a short jumper with 23 seconds to go to put Louisville ahead and made a critical steal in the waning moments. Hailey Van Lith added 15 points, including two free throws with 4.2 seconds left to seal the win. The Hokies rallied from a 16-point first-half deficit to take the lead, but couldn't hold on. Aisha Sheppard paced Virginia Tech with 20 points. Elizabeth Kitley finished with 17 points for the Hokies.
