
Softball Excels in the Classroom

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville softball team turned in impressive academic results in the fall semester earning a team GPA of 3.478. It marks the program's 33rd straight semester with a collective GPA of 3.0 or higher - a streak dating back to the fall of 2005.

The Cardinals also achieved some outstanding individual accomplishments with five Dean's Scholars leading the way as Lexi Carver, Mia Forsythe, Maddi Grant, Korbe Otis and Taryn Weddle posting a 4.0 GPA.

Six additional players made the Dean's List with a GPA of 3.5 or better including Ally Alexander, Sydney Bickel, Sam Booe, Easton Lotus, Elana Ornelas and Jenna Servi. After the fall semester, 21 out of 25 softball student-athletes will be named to the Athletic Director's honor roll after posting a mark of 3.0 or better.

About Louisville Softball:
Louisville returns 15 players from last year's team including National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Southeast Region and All-ACC selections Carmyn Greenwood and Taylor Roby. Among the returners are 12 upperclassmen including seven seniors and five juniors, as well as senior transfer Hannah File (James Madison) and graduate transfer Kendall Smith (Western Kentucky).

The Cardinals will open the 2022 season Feb. 10-12 at the FAU First Pitch Classic when they take on host Florida Atlantic, Bethune-Cookman, Indiana and Ohio State. View the complete schedule here.
