Cardinals stay unbeaten at 22-0
RALEIGH, N.C. -- Outside hitter Claire Chaussee had 10 kills and four blocks to lead the No. 2-ranked University of Louisville to a 25-19, 25-20, 25-21 win at NC State Friday night in Reynolds Coliseum.

The win moves Louisville to 22-0 on the season and 12-0 to stay atop the ACC and marks the 17th sweep of the year. The Cardinals hit .250 for the match with nine aces and nine blocks. Amaya Tillman hit .500 with five kills on 10 swings and added three blocks. Anna Stevenson had eight kills, two aces and three blocks with setter Tori Dilfer adding 29 assists and an ace. Libero Elena Scott had eight digs.

NC State hit .160 with one ace and two blocks. The Wolfpack was led by Melissa Evans' 10 kills and 10 digs. Jade Parchment and Taylor Rowland each had nine kills. NC State drops to 13-11 and 7-6 in the ACC.

Set 1
UofL used a 7-0 run early to take a 10-5 lead that included three consecutive aces by Anna DeBeer. The Cards went up 15-9 on a kill by Aiko Jones forcing NC State to use its last timeout of the set. The Wolfback closed the gap to three on an ace by Jade Parchment to pull the score to 16-13. Claire Chaussee had a kill and a block to help the Cards to 21-14 and then had another kill to get to 23-15 after a NC State error. A kill by Amaya Tillman took the Cards to set point at 24-16. The Pack staved off defeat three times before Claire Chaussee got the kill from the left side for the 25-19 win.

A hitting percentage of .355 in the second set enabled the Cards to take the lead at 4-3 on an error by NC State and never relinquish it enroute to a 25-20 win. An ace by Anna Stevenson put the Cards up six at 19-13. The Pack would actually outscore the Cardinals 7-6 down the stretch but a kill by Anna DeBeer gave the Cards the 2-0 set lead going into the break.

In the third set, UofL went up 5-2 on three consecutive aces by Ayden Bartlett. NC State came back to tie at 7 on a kill by Jade Parchment and then took the lead at 9-8 on a Cardinal miscue.  Louisville regained the lead at 10-9 on an ace by Stevenson and never looked back, winning 24-21 on a kill by Claire Chaussee
