Golf Programs to Compete at the Highly Competitive Blessings Collegiate Invitational
October 02, 2021 | Men's Golf, Women's Golf
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - – The University of Louisville men's and women's golf programs will compete with some of the nation's best collegiate golfers on Oct. 4-6 at the second annual Blessings Collegiate Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark.
The BCI is the most unique college golf event in that both the men's and women's programs will be competing at the same time on the same course. And, in addition to the usual team and individual winners being crowned, a team's combined score will give the BCI a men's and women's champion and there will be a men's and women's individual champion based on "best ball" format.
The 10-team field features Arizona, host Arkansas. Houston. Illinois, Louisville, North Carolina, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Texas Tech and UCLA.
The Louisville men's program, fresh off a third-place finish at the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate will send Jiri Zuska, Chris Francouer, Max Kennedy, Hugh O'Hare and Walker Franklin to the course on Sunday.
Zuska is coming off a solid performance where he finished in a tie for second place, shooting a remarkable 10-under-par over the two-day event. He closed the tournament with a final round 67.
The women's team will feature a lineup consisting of Lauren Thibodeau, Carmen Griffiths, Hana Ryskova, Kendall Griffin, and Mairead Martin.
In their last event, the Cardinals finished ninth at the Mason Rudolph Championship last weekend. Hana Ryskova shot a final round 66 to help her finish the tournament at even-par.
