
Jazmine Jones Named to WNBA's All-Rookie Team

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Former University of Louisville women's basketball guard Jazmine Jones has been named to the WNBA's All-Rookie Team.Â
Earlier this month, she was named to the ESPN and Associated Press WNBA All-Rookie Team.
Jones was selected by the New York Liberty with the 12th overall pick of the 2020 WNBA Draft and averaged 10.8 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.4 steals and 21.4 minutes per game over 20 contests. She ranked first in steals, third in rebounds and fourth in points across all WNBA rookies.
Jones had a season-high 24 points, while adding a season-high five steals, against the Los Angeles Sparks on Aug. 11. She had a season-high 10 rebounds vs. Indiana on Sept. 10.
Following her senior season at Louisville, she was named WBCA All-American honorable mention, All-ACC First Team, All-ACC Defensive Team, All-ACC Academic Team and ACC All-Tournament Team. She played in 144 games at Louisville, which eclipsed Myisha Hines-Allen (2014-2018) and Shoni Schimmel (2010-14), for the most games played in program history.
When selected 12th overall by the Liberty, she became the fourth player in Louisville women's basketball history to be selected in the first round of the WNBA Draft, joining Angel McCoughtry, Shoni Schimmel, Asia Durr.
