June 08, 2020 | Men's Tennis
University of Louisville men's tennis player Clement Filho has announced that he will return for a fifth year with the Cardinals in the 2020-21 season. He has elected to utilize an additional season of eligibility granted by the NCAA after the 2020 campaign which was shortened by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Â
"I am super-excited to have the chance to come back next year and looking forward to succeed with this team once again," said Filho.
Â
Filho was a senior in eligibility in 2020 after earning his bachelor's degree in communications in 2019. The native of Paris, France is a four-year letterwinner. When the 2020 season came to a halt due to COVID-19, Filho had tallied nine singles wins, including three in dual match victories.
Â
Throughout his career, he amassed 52 singles wins and 19 doubles victories. Additionally, he is a four-time ACC Academic Honor Roll selection.Â
Â
The 2019-20 men's tennis season ended on March 12 as the Cardinal were getting ready to take on ACC opponent Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia. The Cardinals posted a 9-6 overall record and a 2-1 mark in league play during the shortened season. Â
