Â
Q: Why did you choose Louisville?
A: The moment I set foot on campus I fet an overwhelming sense of friendly support from the girls and coaches. Everyone I met had such a great sense of humor which made me realize this is a happy and well-rounded community. Coming from South Africa, it was s a whole new culture and way of life to experience. The campus and facilities were fantastic, which made me excited to join the University of Louisville.
Â
Q: How do you know coming to Louisville was the right decision for you?Â
A: The girls as well as the coaching staff are friendly, welcoming and all around happy to be doing what they are doing. The competiveness is there in practice but what happens on the water and in the erg room stays on the water and in the erg room - there is no bad blood between anyone.
Â
Q: What is one thing our program has taught you?
A: To never settle. Never settle for where you're at, go after your goal but at the ame time push your limits because you never know if you are more than capable of going beyond that goal you have set for yourself.
Â
Q: What is the best part about being a student-athlete at Louisville?
A: The coaches and academic athletic staff support your achievements in the Boathouse as well as outside.
Â
Q: What do you miss most about being on campus?
A: Being able to walk around in the fresh air!! #lockdown
Â
Q: What are you doing with yourself during your free time?Â
A: Staying on top of my academics and taking advantage of spending this time with my family.
Â
Q: How are you continuing to stay in shape during this time?
A: Training on your own is always tough but I have my sister around to train with and knowing that your teammates are also putting in the work over this time motivates you to stay in shape too.
Â
Q: How have you and your teammates been keeping in contact?
A: Through the vast amount of social media platforms that are available to us. Text message, Snapchat and Facetime are the three that I use most to catch up with my teammates.
