LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville junior guard has been named to the 2020 Dawn Staley Award Watch List, as announced by the Phoenix Club of Philadelphia.

Evans is one of 15 players named to the midseason list.
Â
The Gary, Ind., native has scored in double figures in 22 of 23 games. She ranks second in the ACC with 18.7 points per game. She leads the league and ranks ninth in the country with 67 made 3-pointers. She is shooting 41.6 percent from beyond the arc, which leads the league and ranks 35th in the NCAA.

Last season, Louisville's Asia Durr was honored with the Dawn Staley Award in Philadelphia.

Established in 2013, the honor recognizes the nation's best guard in women's NCAA Division I college basketball.

Named after women's basketball legend and Hall of Famer Dawn Staley, the award is given to a player "who exemplifies the skills that Dawn possessed throughout her career: ball handling, scoring, her ability to distribute the basketball and her will to win."

Four finalists will be announced in Mid-March and the winner will be announced the weekend of the Final Four. The award event will be held at the Union League Thursday, April 9.
