
No. 5 Louisville to Face No. 2 Connecticut in Elite Eight

The 1-seed Cardinals and 2-seed Huskies will tip off at 12 p.m. ET.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Louisville women's basketball (32-3, 14-2) will face Connecticut in the regional final of the NCAA Tournament on Sunday at noon ET.
The Cardinals are seeking their fourth ever trip to the Final Four and back-to-back trips for the first time in program history.

Louisville advanced to its fifth NCAA Elite Eight in school history with a 61-44 win over Oregon State. It marks their second straight trip to the Elite Eight. All five Elite Eight appearances have occurred in the last 11 years under the guidance of head coach Jeff Walz. Louisville is 3-1 all-time in the Elite Eight with the lone loss coming at the KFC Yum! Center to Maryland on April 1, 2014 (L, 76-73).

Sam Fuehring scored 17 points vs. Oregon State to eclipse 1,000 points with 1,002. She is the 29th 1,000-point scorer in program history.

In the NCAA Tournament, the Cardinals are giving up 42.7 points per game and 31.8 percent shooting, while forcing 16.3 turnovers.

Asia Durr went 0-4 from 3-point range vs. Oregon State. Previously she had made a 3-pointer in 22 straight games and she has made a three in 32 of 34 games this season. She has made at least one 3-pointer in 106 of the last 111 games played and owns a program-record with a 3-pointer in 59 straight games.

In three NCAA Tournament games, she leads the team in scoring (20.0 ppg), assists (3.3 apg), blocks (1.3) and steals (1.3).

The Huskies won both the American regular season and tournament championships for the fifth consecutive season and are looking to advance to their 12th straight Final Four. During the regular season, UConn earned wins over Notre Dame, South Carolina and DePaul.

Collier ranks third in the nation in field goals made (312) and eighth in field goal percentage (.623), with Dangerfield ranking tenth in assists per game with 5.9.

Overall, the Huskies ranked second nationally in scoring margin (27.6 points per game), fifth in scoring offense (83.0 points per game), assists (19.8 per game) and field goal percentage (.495), and limited opponents to just 33.8 percent shooting on the season.
