
Cardinals Wrap Up Oak Ridge Cardinal Invitational

Top two varsity eights earn second-place finishes
OAK RIDGE, Tenn. – Led by runner-up finishes by the top two eight boats, University of Louisville rowing concluded the Oak Ridge Cardinal Invitational Sunday morning at the Melton Lake Rowing Venue.
The final session of the regatta opened with the varsity eight race as the Cards took second with a time of 5:47.100, finishing just under five seconds behind leading Virginia. In both the varsity four and third varsity eight races, the Cards placed third with times of 6:42.117 and 6:16.112 respectively. In the second varsity eight race, a late pass of Tulsa helped Louisville finish second with a time of 5:46.474. The session then concluded with a third-place time of 6:47.180 in the second varsity four race.
Louisville will now turn its attention toward the upcoming Sunshine State Invitational on April 5-6 at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Fla.
