
Atwell Earns PFF First-Team All-American Accolades

Tutu Atwell recorded 1,129 yards receiving and 12 touchdowns as a sophomore.
LOUISVILLE, Ky .- University of Louisville wide receiver Tutu Atwell was named a Pro Football Focus First Team All-American on Tuesday.
Atwell, who was named first team All-Atlantic Coast Conference, put together a record-breaking sophomore campaign, leading the Cardinals with 61 receptions for 1,129 yards, which is the seventh-best total in school history, and tied a school record with 12 touchdowns.
The 5-foot-9 wide out became the school's first 1,000-yard receiver since Harry Douglas totaled 1,159 yards in 2007.
A native of Miami, Fla., Atwell led the ACC in receiving yards and touchdowns, while posting six 100-yard receiving games. Â He closed the season with a touchdown reception in five-straight games.
A former Dade County Player of the Year, Atwell registered his best game in a win over Western Kentucky on Sept. 14. Atwell caught five passes for 145 yards and three scores in a 38-21 win over the Hilltoppers.
One of the most explosive receivers in college football, Atwell led the country with five receptions of 60+ yards, four of 70, two of 80, and one of 90 this year to post an 18.5 yards per catch average, which ranked 29th nationally.
Atwell is the Cardinals' first first-team All-American since quarterback Lamar Jackson swept numerous first team accolades during the 2016 season.
