Cardinal Divers Place Two in Top Three in NC State/GAC Invitational

Fears takes first, Pinto third
The University of Louisville had a first and third in the finals at the Wolfpack/GAC Invitational Thursday night in Greensboro.

Diver Molly Fears won the 1M with a score of 281.55. Teammate Michaela Sliney placed sixth with a 257.50 and Abigail Erickson was eighth, boarding a score of 246.30.

In men's 3M diving, Daniel Pinto takes third in the finals with a 361.05.
"The divers had a great start to the Wolfpack invitational with 10/11 competitors making finals," said Ryan Rougeux, UofL diving coach. "Abbie Erickson had a break through performance on the 1m making her first collegiate final while senior Molly Fears won the competition with an NCAA qualifying score of 281.55. The men's team was highlighted by Daniel Pinto's 3rd place finish in 3m finals with a NCAA qualifying score of 361.05. Tomorrow features the men's 1m and women's 3m competition as the Cardinals look forward to another opportunity for NCAA zone cuts."

No. 7/7 NC State,is hosting seven other programs for its second edition of the NC State/GAC Invitational.No. 14/RV Arizona State, No. 15/11 Duke, No. 23/13 Auburn and No. 24/19 Wisconsin are all competing this weekend. George Washington and No. 9/12 Louisville will only send divers to the meet to round out the field.Â
