There is a required 7 day prohibition period of athletically related activities beginning the day after a student-athlete's or team's last contest of the championship segment. During this period, student-athletes may only participate in voluntary activities. See Bylaw 17.1.7.10.7 for more information.
17.1.7.10.7 Seven-Day Discretionary Period After Championship Segment. [A] Required athletically related activities shall be prohibited for a seven-day period beginning the day after a student-athlete's or team's last contest of the championship segment. During this period, a student-athlete may only participate in voluntary activities. Health and medical activities (e.g., medical evaluations or treatment for prevention and/or rehabilitation of injuries) or activities that are academically related (e.g., meetings with academic advisor, tutoring sessions) are permitted during this period. (Adopted: 1/20/17 effective 8/1/17)
17.1.7.10.7.1 Exception -- Team Meeting. [A] A team may conduct one end-of-season meeting during the seven-day discretionary period, provided no countable athletically related activities occur. (Adopted: 1/24/19)
17.1.7.10.7.2 Exception -- Training for Elite National and International Events. [A] During the seven-day period, a student-athlete who has qualified for an elite national or international event (see Bylaw 16.8.1.2) may participate in individual-workout sessions conducted by a coaching staff member, provided the student-athlete initiates the request to participate in the workout sessions. (Adopted: 1/20/17 effective 8/1/17)
17.1.7.10.7.3 Multisport Student-Athletes. [A] A multisport student-athlete may participate in required athletically related activities in a different sport during the seven-day discretionary period. (Adopted: 1/20/17 effective 8/1/17)
