All 11 active players scored for the Cardinals in the win.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville women's basketball team soared to a 91-43 victory over the visiting Virginia Cavaliers (7-11, 1-4) on Thursday night at the KFC Yum! Center.
Senior Asia Durr's 20 points fueled Louisville's largest-ever ACC win, pushing the No. 4 Cardinals to 16-1 (4-1).
Sophomore Dana Evans produced the season's first perfect finish from the floor, going 6-of-6 for 14 points. Junior Bionca Dunham cashed in down low all night, scoring 12 points on 6-of-7 shooting.
For the second time this season, every active player scored at least two points.
The Cards forced 20 turnovers, leading to easy transition points to keep their distance from the Cavaliers.
Head coach Jeff Walz said he was pleased with his team's offensive performance.
"We were able to get out and push the ball and get the tempo to the speed that we wanted," Walz said. "Overall, I was really pleased with how we shot it and areas of the floor we got shots."
The Cards shot 57.1 percent and hit 12 3-pointers, which marked their second highest mark of the year.
Louisville's 12 points in the paint allowed them to hold a first quarter lead. Virginia's rebounding efforts kept the Cavaliers close, though, as the opening 10 minutes ended with a 15-11 Louisville lead.
The Cardinals blew open the lead in the second quarter with a 12-0 run capped by redshirt senior Arica Carter's corner three-pointer. Virginia's scoring drought lasted just over four minutes.
Louisville's scoring run ballooned to 24-3, giving the Cards a 39-17 lead late into the second quarter.
UofL patched up their rebounding troubles, outrebounding the Cavs 12-7. Shooting 52.8 percent from the field, the Cards walked to the locker room with a 46-20 lead.
Virginia scored the first two buckets of the second half. Louisville answered with a 15-0 run, including a pair of threes from Evans. Sixty-four percent shooting in the third quarter helped the Cards own a healthy 71-30 lead going into the final 10 minutes.
As the fourth winded down, Walz emptied his bench. Notable fourth quarter scorers included freshman Seygan Robins and junior Jessica Laemmle, both who notched their first points of the calendar year.
Louisville travels for their next two games against Wake Forest (Jan. 20) and Florida State (Jan. 24). The Cards return home on Jan. 27, hosting Pittsburgh.
