Teeter, Howell Lead Boston Storm to 13-9 Win Over Baltimore Ride in UWLX Play

The Storm is off to a 2-0 start.
BASKING RIDGE, N.J. — University of Louisville head coach Scott Teeter and former defender Emily Howell led the Boston Storm to a 13-9 win over the Baltimore Ride on Saturday evening at the Top Flight Lacrosse Tournament.
With the win, the Storm move to 2-0 on the year.
Led by goalkeeper Liz Hogan, who recorded 21 saves while allowing only nine goals, the Storm racked up a 7-3 halftime lead and then went back and forth with the Ride in the second half to secure the win.
"It's unselfish play," said Teeter, who is head coach of the Storm. "The girls are spreading the ball around. I thought our defense played well and Liz Hogan showed why she's one of the top in the world. It just adds to the game – having superb stick skills. Right when she makes a save we're going four-v-three right away, our middies are getting a good break and her stick skills in goal just give us more opportunities to push and tire out the other team."
Former Cardinals Faye Brust and Nikki Boltja each contributed two unassisted goals for Baltimore, both scoring in the first and second half.
The UWLX returns to action on July 11, when the Baltimore Ride will take on the Long Island Sound and the Philadelphia Force will face the Boston Storm in Columbia, Md., at the STX Rising Girls Showcase.
Games are scheduled for 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. ET, respectively.
