LOUISVILLE, Ky. - After being selected by the Washington Mystics with the 19th pick of the 2018 WNBA Draft, former University of Louisville forward Myisha Hines-Allen will make her regular season debut on Sunday against the Indiana Fever at 1 p.m. ET. The game will air live on NBA TV.
She is one of two rookies to make the Mystics' roster, joining Texas' Ariel Atkins.
"She comes from a winning program and was a major part of that team being a winning program," Washington Mystics' head coach Mike Thibault said. "She can be credited with a lot of positive things she did for Louisville over the course of her career. Her toughness in big games stood out. I liked that she didn't back down from people."Â
Hines-Allen wrapped her career at Louisville by helping the Cardinals advance to their third ever trip to the Final Four with a 76-43 win over Oregon State in the regional final in Lexington, Ky.Â
She was named WBCAÂ All-America Honorable Mention at the conclusion of her senior season and was also named All-ACC First Team and ACC Tournament Most Valuable Player.
With 2,028 career points and 1,151 career rebounds, she is one of two players, joining Angel McCoughtry, who was drafted first overall by the Atlanta Dream in the 2009 WNBAÂ Draft, with over 2,000 points and 1,000 rebounds. She ranks second in program history in all-time rebounds and third in all-time points.
She also finishes with 118 wins in her career, which makes her the winningest player in program history.
Hines-Allen is joined in the WNBA by former Cardinals Angel McCoughtry (Atlanta Dream) and Shoni Schimmel (Las Vegas Aces).
The 2018 WNBAÂ season opens with two games on Friday night.
