
Jordan and Funke Garner Academic All-District Honors

Senior Jenna Jordan and sophomore Celene Funke were named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District 2 Teama and are eligible for Academic All-America® Consideration
The University of Louisville's Jenna Jordan and Celene Funke have been named to the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Softball Team. They are both eligible for Academic All-America® consideration which recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.

To be nominated for Academic All-America® consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00 and have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution.

Jordan takes home her second straight CoSIDA Academic All-District honors and recently graduated with magna cum laude honors with a 4.0 G.P.A., while receiving the Outstanding Undergraduate Student in Exercise Science Award. The catcher from Ft. Collins, Colo., posted a .272 batting average with three home runs, 24 RBIs and scored 19 runs.

After joining the Cardinals as a sophomore in 2016, she went on to become a three-year starter. Jordan is a two-time NFCA Academic Scholar Athlete, ACC All-Academic Team and ACC academic honor roll member and has been named to the Athletic Director's honor roll in each of her semesters at Louisville.Â

Funke, a sophomore from Carmel, Ind., carries a 4.0 G.P.A. while majoring in finance. The outfielder earned a starting role this season and led the Cardinals with a .356 batting average and 17 stolen bases and scored 29 runs on the season. Funke was an ACC Academic Honor Roll selection and has been named to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll in each of her semesters at UofL.Â
