Cardinals' varsity eight crew finishes second to No. 7 Wolverines

BELLEVILLE, Mich. – In their final regular season event of the season, the University of Louisville women's rowing team turned in a solid performance against the University of Michigan Sunday morning at Belleville Lake. The Cardinals were unable to pick up a win in any dual races, but did post several close finishes.

In the closing varsity eight race, the Cards' crew narrowed the gap from the last meeting at Oak Ridge, clocking in at 6:25.74, just over four seconds behind the Wolverines. Earlier, the second varsity eight boat placed second with a time of 6:41.14, while the varsity four came in third place at 7:31.71.

The second varsity four boat finished at 7:31.71, pacing two second off Michigan. In their second outing of the spring, the third varsity eight crew turned in a time of 6:56.68.

Louisville will now turn its attention toward the ACC Championships on Sunday, May 13 at Clemson University's Lake Hartwell. The Cardinals will return to the venue for the second time this season to face their conference rivals in a two-session competition.
