Rowing Closes Clemson Invite with V4+ Win

V4+ takes final with 2V8+ placing second

CLEMSON, S.C. – Powered by the performance of the varsity four crew, the University of Louisville women's rowing team finished the Clemson Invitational in solid fashion Saturday at Lake Hartwell.

The V4+ crew took first in the B final with a time of 7:10.13, finishing more than a second ahead of runner-up Washington State. The 2V8+ boat followed that up with a second-place finish in the C final, posting a time of 6:32.30 that placed just behind Cornell's winning time. The V8+ crew finished fourth in the B final with a time of 6:23.61, their fastest mark of the weekend. In the 2V4+ A final, the Cards placed seventh with a time of 7:30.85.

Earlier in the morning session, the V8+ crew turned in a strong time of 6:46.78, placing third behind USC and Wisconsin. The V4+ boat also finished third in its race with a time of 7:21.67. Elsewhere, the 2V8+ came ranked fifth with a time of 6:47.84, while the 2V4+ placed fourth at 7:39.46.
