Cards place two players on All-ACC Academic team
The University of Louisville's Christopher Morin-Kougoucheff and Nicolas Rouanet were named to the All-ACC Men's Tennis Academic Team, as announced by the conference office Monday.
Â
Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career for undergraduate students. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.
Â
"It is important to our program that everyone associate strives to be excellent in everything they do," said UofL head coach Rex Ecarma. "As a coach, I want to be a great coach, husband and father; and as a player they want to be a superb player, student and leader. Chris Kougoucheff and Nicolas Rouanet are two great examples of that."
Â
Morin-Kougoucheff (Capbreton, France), completed his sophomore season with a 22-17 overall singles record and posted 11 wins as Louisville's No. 1 player. The team co-captain and finance major was nationally-ranked in singles three times, reaching as high as No. 114. The All-ACC second team selection also added 16 doubles victories to his sophomore resume.
Â
Rouanet (Gujan Mestres, France) posted a 27-17 overall singles record and tallied 16 dual match wins playing mostly at Nos. 2 and 3. The sport administration major also registered 13 doubles wins.
Â
UofL finished the 2017 season with a 22-10 overall record after earning the program's 12th NCAA bid and advancing to the finals of the Columbus Regional.
