No. 18 Louisville Advances Three Boats to “A” Finals at Clemson

Cardinals earn two runner-up finishes as varsity four, second varsity four and third varsity eight boats reach “A” finals
CLEMSON, S.C. - The No. 18 Louisville rowing team earned a pair of runner-up finishes while advancing three of its five boats to "A" finals during a busy first day of racing at the Clemson Invitational on Saturday at Lake Hartwell.
The Cardinals advanced the varsity four, second varsity four and third varsity eight boats to Sunday's "A" finals, while the varsity eight and second varsity eight boats will compete in the "B" finals. Louisville's varsity four crew of Kate Allport (coxswain), Claire Bahain, Elizabeth Patrick, Hannah Richardson and Rachael Schmetzer earned a third-place finish in its morning heat race and a second-place finish in the afternoon heat race.
The second varsity four crew of Perie Howard (coxswain), Rebecca Yaklic, Kiara Loucks, Emma Ison and Mackenzie Garland was third in its morning heat race and finished second in the afternoon heat. Louisville's third varsity eight crew of Margaret Geraghty (coxswain), Gabi Biedenharn, Gillian Burns, Vanessa Fiedler, Kylie Noltemeyer, Amelia Herrera, Abigail Davies, Mallory Burnett and Riley Kerber was fourth in the morning heat race and third in the afternoon heat race.
The Cardinals will open their day with the varsity eight "B" final at 7:38 a.m., ET, while the second varsity eight "B" final is set to begin at 8:04 a.m. The varsity four "A" final is scheduled for 8:38 a.m., the second varsity four "A" final is scheduled for 9:04 a.m., and the third varsity eight "A" final will be the final race of the morning at 9:22 a.m.
