
Women’s Golf Tied for Eighth at Clemson Invitational

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Molly Skapik shot a team-leading 1-under-par 71 on Friday, and the University of Louisville women's golf team is tied for eighth at the Clemson Invitational through one round of play in Sunset, S.C.
Skapik posted a 1-under-par through the front nine, tallying a pair of birdies before the turn. The junior scored an even par over her final nine holes, earning a birdie to secure her sixth round even or below par this season. She is three strokes behind the overall leader, Furman's Alice Chen, who carded a 4-under-par 68.
Collectively, Louisville logged a 9-over-par 297 and is tied for eighth out of the 17-team field. The Cardinals, tied with Oklahoma, return to action at The Reserve at Lake Keowee on Saturday, with a 10:15 a.m. ET tee tie.
Sophomore Olivia Cason is tied for 27th after producing the second-best score on the team, with a 2-over-par 74. She had a 1-under-par through the front nine behind two birdies, but endured a double bogey on No. 16.
Freshman Lauren Hartlage and sophomore Jacqueline Twitty each contributed a 4-over-par 76 and are tied for 51st.
Meghan Nay, who is playing as an individual, is tied for 83rd.
