
Women’s Golf Set to Compete at Briar’s Creek Invitational This Week

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville women's golf team returns to action this week, when it competes at the Briar's Creek Invitational on Monday and Tuesday in Johns Island, S.C.
The Cardinals, one of 18 teams at the event, will play at The Golf Club at Briar's Creek, a par-72, 6,101-yard course. The field features 10 teams ranked in Golfstat's top 50, including Louisville at No. 43. A shotgun start commences play both days at 9 a.m. ET, and live results are available through Golfstat.com.
Louisville will utilize a lineup of Molly Skapik, Lauren Hartlage, Louise Oxner, Olivia Cason, and Jacqueline Twitty.
The Cardinals, who last golfed two weeks ago, secured a solid third-place finish at the Hurricane Invitational in Coral Gables, Fla. The team compiled a season-best 7-over-par 871. Three student-athletes placed in the top 20: Hartlage (second), Skapik (tied for 13th), and Cason (tied for 20th).
Hartlage, who shot a 4-under-par 212, is pacing the team with a 73.09-stroke average. The freshman has a remarkable 11 rounds even or below par this year and has logged five top-10 finishes.
Skapik is second on the team in stroke average, with a 75.23. She and Cason, who is third in stroke average, each have five rounds even or below par.
Louisville participated in the event last year, earning a seventh-place showing. Laura Restrepo was the top finisher, carding a 2-under-par 214 to tie for ninth.
