Cards pick up second shutout in Friday's doubleheader
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville's women's tennis team beat Evansville 7-0 at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center Friday evening. The Cardinals (12-4) will return to action Friday, March 24 at the when they face ACC foe Florida State in an ACC Network Extra televised match.
"I felt like we improved from the first match earlier today," said Beckham. "We were a lot more aggressive, and we dictated what was going on, which is always something I'm looking for. With the style that we play, we have to play a certain way. We have to have a certain type of energy. The second match they brought it. The results were better, and the level of tennis was better."
The Cardinals swept all three doubles courts to take the first point of the match. The duo of Elle Stokes and Mariana Humberg gave Louisville an early edge with a 6-1 win over Chieko Yamada and Theodora Soldatou on court one.
