Cards impressive in fall season
The 2017-18 University of Louisville softball team returned to the field for the 2017-18 fall season and showcased a mix of 11 veterans and 10 newcomers in two weekends of intra-squad scrimmages.
Â
"I think this team's softball IQ is really good and I'm impressed with how much they have progressed in this short period of time," said UofL head coach Sandy Pearsall. "One of the things that we really love on this squad is the amount of speed that we have combined with great power. So that's going to be a big benefit for us offensively. Pitching wise, I've really seen a lot from our young pitchers and I'm excited to see our other two pitchers who weren't able to compete in the fall due to injury."

Freshman Danielle Watson led the Red Team pitchers with 14 strikeouts while fellow rookie Kyra Snyder had five Ks.
