Cards fall 6-1.

The University of Louisville women's tennis team fell 6-1 to ACC foe Boston College Saturday at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.

"This conference is about as brutal as they come and the best conference in women's tennis in the country. The one thing I am pleased with is overall this team showed more maturity because they have acted defeated and immature in recent matches. I let them know about it and they corrected it and that is a big part of being able to play a high level of tennis," said UofL head coach Mark Beckham. "We are continuing to compete the best we can. We do have two starters not playing but no one will feel sorry for us. We have to find a way to win matches."

The Cardinals dropped the doubles point when Lexi Borr and Jackie Urbinati beat UofL's Elle Stokes and Jessie Lynn Paul 6-2 at No. 1. Cardinals Sena Suswam and Abbie Pahz bowed out 6-2 at No. 3 to tip the point to the Eagles.

UofL came out on the wrong end of two of the three positions that went three sets. Abbie Pahz pulled out her match 6-4, 3-6, 11-9 at No. 5 to notch a point for the Cardinals. Sena Suswam dropped her first set 2-6 but came back to win the second set 6-3 but was edged 10-7 by Katya Vasilyeva in the tiebreaker. Cardinal Elle Stokes dropped a heartbreaker when she lost the first set 6-2, came to win the second set 7-6 and then lost 7-5.
