No. 11 Louisville's Uses Second Half Performance to Earn Win Over No. 19 USF

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Myisha Hines-Allen registered her eighth career double-double, with 25 points and 10 rebounds, and led No. 11 Louisville to a 67-50 victory over No. 19 South Florida in the KFC Yum! Center on Monday night.
Louisville's non-conference win over South Florida gives the Cardinals (20-6) their fourth victory over an AP top-25 opponent this season. Louisville has now reached the 20-win mark in six-consecutive seasons under coach Jeff Walz. Sophomore Arica Carter scored a career-high 15 points on 6-of-9 shooting.
The Cardinals seized control of the game during a 9-2 run to end the third quarter. Hines-Allen scored 11 points, and Carter registered eight in the third period. Louisville held a 52-43 lead after the third quarter and limited the Bulls (18-7) to a season-low seven points in the final period.
In the first half, the lead changed nine times, but Louisville closed the second quarter on 9-0 run, led by Carter with five points. South Florida's Courtney Williams had a game-tying high 25 points on 11-of-25 shooting, but she was the Bulls' only double-figure scorer.
Moore closed out the game for Cardinals, scoring seven of Louisville's final 15 points in the fourth quarter. Louisville forced seven turnovers from the Bulls and held South Florida to just 3-of-11 (27.3 percent shooting) from the field in the final period.
Louisville's defense forced USF into 20 turnovers, converting those into 23 points, and limited the Bulls to nearly 26 points less than their season average.
