Taylor Bradley and Nolan Smith represented UofL at the ACC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee fall meeting
Taylor Bradley (Women's Track and Field) and Nolan Smith (Men's Swimming & Diving) represented the University of Louisville at the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) fall meeting which was held November 17-18 in Greensboro, N.C.
Â
The most recent fall meeting marked the seventh time UofL has participated in the conference event. Throughout the two-day weekend, the ACC SAAC went over upcoming NCAA legislation proposals which included student-athlete time demands and updated recruiting protocol.
Â
"In terms of the recruiting process and the time demand legislations, it was great hearing the different viewpoints that each student-athlete had from sport to sport." said Bradley.
Â
In conjunction with the American Heart Association and Duke University, the SAAC representatives underwent CPR certification and training. The group strategized how to get all varsity teams, across all ACC institutions, CPR trained and certified within the next year.
Â
Smith, a senior and SAAC executive board member, learned a great deal from his time in Greensboro. "It was really fun… It was helpful to get ideas from other schools and see what they were doing." Smith also added, "A lot of the activities we did were both informational and eye-opening and it was a blast meeting new people from all around the ACC."
Â
Bradley also enjoyed her time as a liaison for UofL and added "This was a great experience being able to present myself on behalf of the University of Louisville SAAC and present the great things that my school has done in the community."
