- Louisville improved to 6-0 all-time against UT Martin.
- The Cardinals improved to 79-25 all-time against current members of the Ohio Valley Conference.
- Louisville returns to action on Sunday, when it faces 2016 NCAA Tournament participant Belmont in the Cardinals' home opener.
Louisville Team Notes
- With the victory against UT Martin, the Cardinals have won 26 of their last 30, dating back to last season.
- Louisville's 100-point performance marks only the second time the program has achieved the feat in a season opener under head coach Jeff Walz (101 vs. Loyola Chicago, Nov. 9, 2013).
- It is the 20th time in program history the Cardinals have scored 100 points, holding a 20-0 record when reaching the mark. It is just the sixth time Louisville has scored at least 100 on the road.
- After easily surpassing the 70-point mark, the Cardinals boast a 155-15 record (.912) when reaching the plateau under Walz. The Cardinals were 14-1 when scoring at least 70 points last year.
- Women's basketball moved to a four-quarter format last year. In tracking the Cardinals' defensive performances, the team held opponents to single-digit points 25 times last year. Louisville added to that sum on Friday, holding the Skyhawks to seven points in the first period.
- The Cardinals poured in 31 points in the opening period, the most in the first quarter in school history. Louisville's 35-point third quarter is tied for the most in any quarter in school history (35 in third period vs. North Carolina, Feb. 4, 2016; 35 in fourth period vs. NC State, Jan. 17, 2016).
- Louisville had little problem dialing it up from long range, connecting on 9-of-19 3-point attempts. It's the most in a contest since hitting the same total against Clemson on Jan. 28, 2016. It's also the second-highest total in a season opener under Walz.
- Louisville forced 32 turnovers and generated 37 points off the change in possessions.
- The Cardinals' bench contributed 49 points in the victory.
- Louisville connected on 37 field goals, the most since the 2014-15 team hit 39 against Old Dominion on Dec. 15, 2014.
- The Cardinals dished out 23 assists, the most since recording 26 against Syracuse on Jan. 29, 2015.
- Louisville registered 14 steals, with three players totaling at least two.
- Louisville's seven blocks are the most in a game since logging the same total against USF in the NCAA Tournament on March 23, 2015.
- Louisville connected on 17-of-24 free throws (70.8).
- Louisville, which led for 39:46 in the contest, sprinted out to a 21-0 lead to open the game. UT Martin didn't score its first field goal until 6:03 into the first period.
Louisville Individual Notes
- Asia Durr finished with a game-high and career-best 24 points in just 21 minutes. She also set a career-best in 3-pointers made, with seven on only 13 attempts.
- Durr's seven 3-pointers are the most by a Cardinal since Shoni Schimmel connected on nine against Memphis on Jan. 26, 2014.
- Durr's 24 points are tied for the third most in a season opener in school history. Her total matches Kristin Mattox's mark which was set against Miami (Ohio) on Nov. 26, 1993.
- This was Durr's fifth career game with at least 20 points.
- Myisha Hines-Allen totaled 12 points and 10 rebounds in only 17 minutes. It is her 13th career double-double. Hines-Allen now is five points shy of reaching 1,000 in her career.
- Briahanna Jackson was the only other Cardinal in double figures, registering 13 points on an efficient 6-of-8 shooting. She also had four assists and four steals in the contest.
- Taylor Johnson, who earned the start, dished out seven assist and turned the ball over only once. She also collected two steals.
- Freshman Ciera Johnson logged three blocked shots in her collegiate debut.
- Jazmine Jones had a solid collegiate debut, totaling six points, six assists, and three steals in 18 minutes off the bench.
