Sophomore George Hedley wins in singles and doubles
Sophomore George Hedley picked up three wins to lead the University of Louisville men's tennis team on day one of Notre Dame's Bayliss Invitational on Friday.

The day started with two rounds of doubles. The duo of senior Sean Donohue and sophomore George Hedley picked up a pair of wins starting with an 8-3 decision against Michigan's Jathan Malik and Davis Crocker in the first round. The pair went on to beat Notre Dame's Matt Gamble and Johnathan Small 8-2. Sophomore Brandon Lancaster and freshman Clement Filho fell 8-5 to Michigan's Myles Schalet and Runhao in their first round match, but rebounded with an 8-6 victory over Wisconsin's Darius Mackenzie and John Zordani.

In singles action, Hedley posted a 6-4, 6-4 win over Gamble to remain undefeated on the day.

Donohue picked up a 6-3 first set win over Wisconsin's Daniel Soyfer, but fell 6-2, 7-5 in his first round match. Filho and Lancaster also suffered first round losses.

The tournament will continue on Saturday morning. Â
