LOUISVILLE, Ky. -Â The No. 7 Louisville men's soccer team closes the regular season against another top 10 foe as fifth-ranked Clemson visits Dr. Mark and Cindy Lynn Stadium on Friday at 7 p.m., ET. The match will be televised on ACC Network Extra, while live scoring will be provided at GoCards.com.
SENIOR NIGHT AT LYNN STADIUM
Prior to Friday's regular season finale, the Louisville men's soccer program will host its annual Senior Night ceremony, which is slated to begin at 6:45 p.m. The Cardinals will honor graduate student Stefan Cleveland and seniors Theo Jamilloux, Daniel Johnson, Romilio Hernandez, Michael DeGraffenreidt and Jerry Ramirez.
CARDS KICK HUNGER FOOD DRIVE
Friday's match will also serve as the Louisville men's soccer program's annual "Cards Kick Hunger" food drive to benefit the Lord's Kitchen and help feed the hungry in the Louisville community. The Cardinals will be collecting food cans during the match and fans who donate a can will receive a ticket for free admission to the match. The goal for this year's food drive is to collect 5,300 food items and match the official capacity of Lynn Stadium.
Suggested items to be donated for the food drive included green beans, corn, mixed fruit, turkey or chicken broth, stuffing, instant potatoes and macaroni and cheese. All canned goods and non-perishable and/or monetary donations are greatly appreciated. Fans may also donate at participating organizations or at the Lynn Stadium training center during normal business hours.
ABOUT THE CARDINALS
Louisville enters the match at 11-3-2 and tied for the top spot in the ACC Atlantic at 5-1-1. With a win against the Tigers, the Cardinals would clinch at least a share of the division title. Louisville has already clinched a first round bye in the 2016 ACC Championship and will host a quarterfinal match at Lynn Stadium on Sunday, Nov. 6 at 1 p.m., ET.
The Cardinals are paced by junior Mohamed Thiaw's 11 goals, including an NCAA best seven game-winners. The 11 goals are the most for a UofL player since Simon Bird's 12 goals in 2003. Graduate goalkeeper Stefan Cleveland has nine shutouts in his 16 starts to anchor the Louisville defense, which has allowed only nine goals overall.Â
ABOUT THE TIGERS
Clemson enters the weekend at 10-2-4 overall after Tuesday's win over Georgia Southern and 3-1-3 in the ACC after last week's draw with Syracuse. Led by head coach Mike Noonan, the Tigers were 17-3-4 overall and 6-1-1 in the ACC. Clemson was the NCAA runner-up falling to champion Stanford (4-0) in the College Cup title match in Kansas City.Â

Clemson holds a 2-0-1 record against Louisville in a series dating back to 2014. The Cardinals have dropped each of the last two against the Tigers after drawing (0-0) in the first ever meeting at Lynn Stadium in 2014.

Behind a trio of second half goals and another stellar defensive performance, the 13th-ranked Louisville men's soccer team confirmed its schedule for the opening week of the 2016 ACC Championship with Sunday afternoon's 3-0 road win at NC State. Mohamed Thiaw, Geoffrey Dee and Tim Kubel each scored goals to lead the offense, while goalkeeper Stefan Cleveland anchored the ninth shutout of the season. With Sunday's win, Louisville clinched a first round bye in the ACC Championship and will host a quarterfinal final match at Dr. Mark and Cindy Lynn Stadium on Sunday, Nov. 6. The pairings and schedule for the ACC Championship will be announced following the completion of the regular season. "I am proud of the guys and their effort," said head coach Ken Lolla. "They were very focused on getting three points on the road to put us in the best possible position going into the final ACC regular season game."

After losing ground in the NSCAA poll for the first time this season last week, the Cardinals returned to the top 10 gaining six spots this week to move to No. 7 overall. Along with this week's ranking in the coaches poll, Louisville was also ranked No. 2 by Hero College Sports, No. 6 by Soccer America and No. 8 by Top Drawer Soccer.
CARDINALS AT NO. 3 IN LATEST NCAA RPI
The NCAA released its fifth men's soccer RPI on Monday and Louisville remained at No. 3. The Cardinals were among five ACC schools in the top eight and nine teams in the top 22. Clemson sits in the No. 1 spot in this week's RPI and is followed by No. 3 Louisville, No. 5 Wake Forest, No. 7 Syracuse, No. 8 North Carolina, No. 11 Notre Dame, No. 15 Virginia, No. 19 Boston College and No. 22 Virginia Tech.

The Cardinals were No. 7 in goals against average (0.58), 10th in total goals (31), 11th in total points (88), 12th in shutout percentage (0.56),15th in scoring offense (1.94 goals per game), 19th in points per game (5.50), 22nd in save percentage (0.813), 22nd in shots on goal per game (6.44) and 24th in total assists (26).
Individually, three Cardinals have emerged to rank among the best in the nation and the ACC -- junior forward Mohamed Thiaw, graduate goalkeeper Stefan Cleveland and junior defender Tim Kubel. Thiaw was ranked No. 1 in the nation with seven game-winning goals, seventh in the nation and second in the ACC in goals (11), 14th nationally and second in the ACC in points (23), 17th in the nation and first in the ACC in goals per game (0.69) and 28th in the nation and second in the ACC in points per game (1.44).Â
